Study: Insomnia Increases Risk of Strokes

Insomnia and other sleep disorders could increase the risk of strokes, according to a new report.

According to a new research conducted by a Taiwan-based team of researchers from the Department of Medical Research at Chi-Mei Medical Center and Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science, those people who are affected with insomnia have a considerably higher risk of strokes.

The research published in the Stroke, a journal of the American Heart Association, mentioned that the study included the analysis of medical records of about 21,000 people affected with insomnia and 64,000 people who weren’t affected with the sleeping disorder.
