Tis the season, and the Clara White Mission (CWM) has consistently done its part to help families in Northeast Florida. Last week, the Mission held its 23rd annual December to Remember (DTR) Christmas event for families in need.

Five families were selected to receive donations courtesy of the local Greek fraternities and sororities. Radio Sponsors 93.3 The Beat shared the heartfelt stories from the recipient families with radio listeners for two weeks.

This annual event highlights the type of impact that CWM has had in the community, according to event organizers. Over 60 applications were submitted for the consideration as a DTR honoree. Hundreds of radio station personnel, family, friends and community organizations celebrated the families with a special luncheon last Saturday at the Legends Center on Soutel Drive.

Members of the local Greek organizations participated in the event and helped to welcome the families. CWM also showed off their culinary program and provided a buffet meal to attendees.  Each child was provided with their Christmas “wish list” items gifted by their own personal Santa Claus. The afternoon was filled with holiday cheer and a surprise $500.00 gift card presented by local benefactor McGowan Chiropractic.
