Michael Sam Responds to Tony Dungy ‘Distraction’ Comments

(Fox Sports) – Michael Sam certainly knows how to handle himself around the press for someone who’s such a “distraction.”

Former NFL coach Tony Dungy made comments Sunday that came under fire, mostly due to their vagueness.

Dungy said he wouldn’t have drafted Sam “not because I don’t believe Michael Sam should have a chance to play, but I wouldn’t want to deal with all of it.”

He clarified his comments Tuesday saying that “it” was the media attention that would come with Sam being the first openly gay NFL player.
