HE SAID, HE SAID, HE SAID: AGING WHILE BLACK: TH E MIRROR & THE MASK — FRI. 10.23.26 7PM EST
Join Alvin and Bobby for a raw, personal look at aging, identity, and perception. How does the world see you versus how you see yourself?
“He Said, He Said, He Said Live!” A Look at the World from A Seasoned Black Man’s Perspective…because one perspective isn’t enough!” for Aging While Black: The Mirror and the Mask: How Black Gay Men See Ourselves—and How the World Sees Us” Friday, October 23, 2026 @ 7:00 pm
He Said, He Said, He Said are taking our Aging While Black Series somewhere very personal. Alvin and Bobby are joined by three extraordinary Black gay professionals – Greg Wright of Baltimore / Jules Williams of Philadelphia / Maurice Scott of Washington, D.C.
And we’re asking some questions that may make you stop and look in the mirror yourself.
How do you see yourself? Is that how the world sees you? What happens when you walk into a room as a successful Black gay man—and everyone in that room has already decided who they think you are? What about when that room is filled with your own people?
And what happens to our friendships with straight men when they know we’re gay? Do we really understand each other? Do some men feel threatened by gay men who don’t fit the stereotype? And after all these years of living, loving, working, leading, succeeding, and sometimes having to prove ourselves…
What have we finally learned about who we are? This isn’t a conversation about labels. It’s about perception. It’s about identity. It’s about masculinity, friendship, success, authenticity, and the freedom that comes with getting older and finally becoming comfortable in your own skin.
Because for too long, other people have told our story.
Five seasoned Black gay men. Five perspectives. One conversation you won’t want to miss. Because one perspective isn’t enough.
