2026 Subaru WRX Review Worth $34,885 as Your Daily Driver?
Is the 2026 Subaru WRX the perfect daily driver? We break down the thrills, the quirks, and whether it’s worth the $34,885 price tag.
Is the 2026 Subaru WRX worth $34,885? Roosevelt with AutoNetwork.com examines this Ignition Red, six-speed manual WRX to help you decide whether its driving enjoyment fits your everyday life.
After driving this WRX, I found plenty to like: a sports car feel, quick response when working through the gears, a supportive driver’s seat, and a deep, wide trunk. The 2.4-liter turbocharged BOXER engine and Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive are central to its appeal, but buying a car means looking beyond the fun.
In this AutoNetwork Advisor review, I explain the compromises I noticed: low entry and exit, a hard driver’s headrest, tire noise entering the cabin, dashboard reflections in the windshield, and sunlight that makes the infotainment screen harder to read. These are my observations, along with practical checks you can make during your own test drive.
We also examine the 18-inch wheels, summer performance tires, tire repair kit, folding rear seatback, and 11.6-inch multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Listed fuel economy is 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 22 combined.
This vehicle’s base MSRP is $33,690. With the listed $1,195 destination charge, its sticker total is $34,885 before taxes and fees.
In Roosevelt’s Dealer Desk, learn what to request in an itemized out-the-door price and why you should understand added products and charges before signing.
The vehicle remains parked during this presentation; driving impressions come from my earlier time behind the wheel.
