Recent events across the country, such as outbreaks of lead poisoning in Flint, MI and East Chicago, IN, the battles by the Standing Rock Sioux and Isle de Jean Charles Band of Biloxi-Chitimacha-Choctaw to hold onto and protect their sacred land and recent devastating flooding in Baton Rouge and Charleston, West Virginia are focusing new and needed national attention on environmental and climate justice and environmental racism.
