May is Mental Health Month. The NNPA’s Dr. Nsenga K. Burton, Ph.D along with Dr. Kanika Bell & Dr. Jimmy Davis — Professors of Psychology at Clark Atlanta University — discuss the pandemic and society’s reaction to it. While significant focus has been placed on the thousands that have succumbed to the worst effects of COVID-19, information on the psychological impact of everything surrounding the pandemic for survivors — and the rest of us — is hard to find.
Job loss, quarantine, social distancing and the inability to fully honor the tens of thousands that we have lost, are burdens that Blacks have had to bear in proportions that far outweigh our share of the population.
