Fifty + anniversary event to be featured on Steve Harvey Show
CINCINNATI HERALD — Shirley Johnson and a small committee started the senior anniversary event, which is always held on Sweetest Day in October. It features dining, music and a speaker, in addition to recognition of the couples who attend.

The Fifty+ anniversary event that has been held during an annual luncheon in Cincinnati for the past five years was featured on a segment of “The Steve Harvey Show’’ that aired at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, on WLWT-TV Channel 5.
Shirley and Robert Johnson, and their daughter Julie, all of Cincinnati, will be at the show’s studio in Los Angeles Thursday and Friday to meet with Harvey for taping of the Fifth + segment.

Janice Battle, who is treasurer of Fifty +, her grandson who lives in California, Sean L. Walton Sr., of Dayton, who operates a social media business, and Julie Johnson assembled photos from the event and set them to the producers of the show.
Those producers contacted Shirley Johnson about featuring the event.
