Elon Musk looks uncertain discussing a "big beautiful bill" in a video still.

Elon Musk has spoken out against one of Donald Trump’s flagship policies, signaling a public split from the president he helped re-elect in 2024.

Last week, the House of Representatives narrowly approved Trump’s so-called “big, beautiful” bill — a sweeping measure promising trillions in tax cuts and a boost to defense funding. The legislation now moves to the Senate.

In an interview with CBS News, Musk said he was “disappointed” by the bill, arguing it “undermines” the cost-cutting efforts he contributed to during Trump’s presidency.
