Charlotte Cheers $163M DNC Boost

The results are in and the 2012 Democratic National Convention was the largest event in Charlotte, N.C.’s history.

The September event — at which, President Barack Obama officially accepted his party’s nomination for reelection — had an economic impact of $163.6 million for the city, according to a study from Tourism Economics, and funded by the City of Charlotte, Charlotte Chamber, Charlotte Center City Partners, Charlotte Regional Partnership and Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority.
