Kayla Graves, a senior trombonist at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and a Northside resident, was recently inducted into the national Tri-M Music Honor Society. Tri-M is a program of the National Association for Music Education that recognizes students for their academic and musical achievements.
Graves, who hopes to study Music Performance in college, is inspired to have been chosen for the honor society.
“Membership in Tri-M affirms the quality of the music education I have received at DA,” said Graves, “as well as the perseverance necessary to achieve mastery of my craft.”
As part of Tri-M, Graves will be mentoring younger instrumentalists, and sharing her knowledge and experience with aspiring musicians.
