Congressional Black Caucus Foundation staffers, along with interns and fellows, volunteered all day Tuesday at the Ronald Walters Election Day Command Center at Howard University, where they helped monitor, track and communicate with on-the-ground field operations in select states to ensure real-time reporting and trending.

Center staff also shared voters’ experiences at the polls, analyzed voter turnout reports, reported on election results for select candidates and analyzed election results to share with the nation via social media and traditional media outlets.

“We will continue to work to fulfill our vision for all communities to have an equal voice in public policy through leadership cultivation, economic empowerment, and civic engagement,” CBCF staffers said in a statement, in which they noted that according to the D.C.-based Pew Research Center, nearly 59 percent of eligible adult voters in the midterm elections are generation Xers, millennials and post-millennials.

2026 Defender 130 X Is It Worth $110,110 for Your Family?

Is the $110K Defender 130 X the ultimate family SUV? Roosevelt dives into its comfort, capability, and whether it’s truly worth the price.

Is the 2026 Defender 130 X worth $110,110 for your family?
Roosevelt examines the comfort, capability, and everyday compromises that matter before you buy this luxury SUV.
Finished in Gondwana Stone with an Ebony Windsor leather interior, this Defender brings a distinctive look and a substantial price. Its 3.0-liter six-cylinder mild-hybrid engine produces 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
My driving impressions include good acceleration, a comfortable and supportive driver’s seat, and good ride quality. However, I also noticed wind noise around the windshield pillar and outside mirror. A highway test drive deserves a place on your shopping checklist.
Inside, we examine the optional second-row captain’s chairs, passenger access, third-row seating, and usable cargo space. The third row does not fold into a flat floor, so bring your stroller, luggage or measurements when evaluating whether this Defender fits your needs.
Getting in and out also deserves attention. The vehicle sits high, and its grab handles may not solve the entry challenge for every passenger. I explain why your regular passengers should try it before you commit.
We also look at the ClearSight digital rearview mirror, 13.1-inch touchscreen, and parking-camera system. Extended viewing of the digital mirror made me feel dizzy; your experience may differ.
Air suspension, terrain settings, and the listed towing package add capability, but how much will you actually use? With supplied fuel ratings of 16 city, 20 highway, and 18 combined mpg, ownership costs belong in the decision.
Watch for practical checks you can use at the dealership, then tell me: would this Defender fit your daily life?

SEIU President April Verrett speaks about money, power, and respect on BlackPressUSATV

Driving home workers’ demand for “Money, Power, and Respect,” Service Employees International Union (SEIU) President April Verrett will join Minnesota Lt. Governor and U.S. Senate candidate Peggy Flanagan this weekend to knock doors and speak with community members in Minneapolis about what’s at stake in this midterm election. Starting in the Twin Cities, where tens of thousands of workers took to the streets to defy a brutal surge by ICE and Border Patrol this winter, shows what workers can do when they stand together across race, background and zip code.

This weekend will kick off a cross-country tour where President Verrett will be visiting states to campaign with bold candidates that have proven they will fight for workers and who come from labor and working families. Stops will include: Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida, Texas and Pennsylvania. This summer, SEIU launched its largest-ever member-led political program, engaging 1 million members to reach 10-15 million voters across the country by the midterm elections.
