This statement discloses the privacy practices for BlackPressUSA.com™, the official Web site for the National Newspaper Publishers Association, Inc. (NNPA). BlackPressUSA.com™, and its parent organization, NNPA will never sell, trade or make public your personal information, unless you designate otherwise, or under terms specifically described below under Compliance with Legal Process.

Traffic Data

When you visit BlackPressUSA.com™, our systems collect basic information about your computer, including: IP address (your computer's unique signature), operating system (e.g., Windows 95), browser software (e.g., Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape), Internet Service Provider (e.g., AOL). We also collect information about what you view on the site. This information reflects our readership as a whole and is used to help us better understand how we can better serve the BlackPressUSA.com™ community.

Use of Cookies

BlackPressUSA.com™ employs cookies -- small text files placed on your computer's hard drive -- to track the type of content and sites to which our users link, the length of time they spend at any particular site and the BlackPressUSA.com™ services they use. Cookies also help us diagnose problems with our server.

Use of Gathered Information

We perform statistical analyses of user behavior in order to measure interest in the various areas of our site (for product development purposes) and to inform advertisers as to how many consumers have seen or "clicked" their advertising banners. We also use demographic and preference information to allow advertising banners on our Web site to be targeted, in aggregate, to the users for whom they are most pertinent. This means that users see advertising that is most likely to interest them, and advertisers send their messages to people who are most likely to be receptive, improving both the viewer's experience and the effectiveness of the ads. In this statistical analyses and banner advertisement targeting, we will disclose information to third parties only in aggregate form. Personal information about you as an individual subscriber will not be provided to any third party without your consent, except under the circumstances described in Compliance with Legal Process below.

We may use an advertising server developed by a third party to display ads on our site. In addition, advertisers may elect to use third-party advertising companies to serve ads onto our website. In the course of serving these advertisements, the third-party advertisers may place or recognize a unique "cookie" on your browser. We do not have access to these cookies or any information that they may contain.
